Blink182 Is BACK!
But only for their UK fans! Sorry!
After a long hiatus, the pop/punk band have just announced a five-date series of concerts across the pond next summer, and a coinciding new album at some point during the year!
Excellent! It's about time, guys! We've missed you!
Check out the list of venues for Blink182's 2011 [...]
But, but, but… it's not the T.V.'s fault she isn't very good!
Another senseless crime! What a life wasted!
Local authorities in Wisconsin arrested Steven Cowan this morning, after he starting shooting in his home while watching Dancing with the Stars. When officers finally apprehended the man, he confessed that he had shot his television to pieces over his rage of watching Bristol Palin dance on the show for another week.
Steven, who officials say suffers from bipolar disorder, began to lose it after yesterday night's show and fired his gun at the television set, before turning it on his wife. Thankfully, she was able to escape the house and get the police, who were told by Steven in a hectic rant that Palin was not a good dancer and only got on the show because of her famous mother.
He then was coaxed into surrendering and was whisked off to prison. He was charged with 2nd degree reckless endangerment and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Geez! We'd hate to be around him if she actually wins! Insanity!

First Look: ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2′ Releases A First Poster
Last night David and I met up with Tamar and Rob for a fun movie double date and we all had a great time catching up and hanging out. Tam picked the movie, Win Win, and at first I wasn’t all that interested in seeing the movie … but once I paid attention to the premise of the film, I couldn’t wait to see it. Win Win is not only the best movie I’ve seen this year thus far but it’s prolly one of the best movies I’ve seen in the past year.
I saw the trailer for Win Win a couple of months ago in the theater and, to be honest, it didn’t really grab me. When Tam suggested we see it, I gave the trailer another look and really paid attention. It looked, at the very least, cute so we decided to check it out. Win Win is not only a well acted, well written film … but it is a touchingly heartfelt cute movie. Paul Giamatti, who always tends to play the same sort of downtrodden, bad luck-attracting character, turns in a superb performance but it is the break-out star Alex Shaffer who really steals the show. I believe Win Win is Shaffer‘s first film and I hope it’s not his last. He really gives a great performance as a troubled teen who finds trust and love from people he never expected. Win Win is one of those indie films that takes a mundane story and elevates it to an emotional, heart string-pulling piece of art. No new ground is broken by this film but we do get a great story, with some great characters … people you actually want to root for. I loved this film entirely. Funny, sad, hopeful and happy … Win Win is deffo worth your time. I think you might like it as much as I love it!
The sun is shining brightly today as the temps are finally warming up here in SoCal. I might have to get outside to soak up some sun. It’s a new week. Happy Monday!!

CNN Celebrates The Heroes Of 2010
Sad and very disappointing news to pass along today Disney Animation fans … according to the company itself, The Walt Disney Company will no longer produce animated/musical films based on classic fairy tales. Tangled, Disney‘s modern take on Rapunzel, hits theaters next week and altho the film will not be presented in traditional 2D animation, it will feature a classic fairy tale story (like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) set to a musical soundtrack (like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) … and, sadly, it will be the last Disney animated feature to do so … at least for the “foreseeable future”:
Once upon a time, there was a studio in Burbank that spun classic fairy tales into silver-screen gold. But now the curtain is falling on “princess movies,” which have been a part of Disney Animation’s heritage since the 1937 debut of its first feature film, “Snow White.” The studio’s Wednesday release of “Tangled,” a contemporary retelling of the Rapunzel story, will be the last fairy tale produced by Disney’s animation group for the foreseeable future. “Films and genres do run a course,” said Pixar Animation Studios chief Ed Catmull, who along with director John Lasseter oversees Disney Animation. “They may come back later because someone has a fresh take on it … but we don’t have any other musicals or fairy tales lined up.” Indeed, Catmull and Lasseter killed two other fairy tale movies that had been in development, “The Snow Queen” and “Jack and the Beanstalk.” To appreciate what a sea change this is for the company, consider that a fairy tale castle is a landmark at Disney theme parks around the world and is embedded in the Walt Disney Pictures logo. Fairy tale characters from Disney’s movies populate the parks, drive sales of merchandise and serve as the inspiration for Broadway musicals … Over the decades, Disney has benefited from the ticket sales and licensing revenue generated by such princess-driven properties as “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin.” The studio’s most recent offering, however, was a clear disappointment. Although critically acclaimed, last year’s “The Princess and the Frog” was the most poorly performing of Disney’s recent fairy tales. In the age of mega-franchises when movies need to appeal to a broad audience to justify a sizable investment, Disney discovered too late that “Princess and the Frog” appealed to too narrow an audience: little girls. This prompted the studio to change the name of its Rapunzel movie to the gender-neutral “Tangled” and shift the lens of its marketing to the film’s swashbuckling male costar, Flynn Rider …
The article excerpt continues, after the jump …
So why has the clock struck midnight for Disney’s fairy tales? Among girls, princesses and the romanticized ideal they represent — revolving around finding the man of your dreams — have a limited shelf life. With the advent of “tween” TV, the tiara-wearing ideal of femininity has been supplanted by new adolescent role models such as the Disney Channel’s Selena Gomez and Nickelodeon’s Miranda Cosgrove. “By the time they’re 5 or 6, they’re not interested in being princesses,” said Dafna Lemish, chairwoman of the radio and TV department at Southern Illinois University and an expert in the role of media in children’s lives. “They’re interested in being hot, in being cool. Clearly, they see this is what society values” … “You’ve got to go with the times,” MGA Chief Executive Isaac Larian said. “You can’t keep selling what the mothers and the fathers played with before. You’ve got to see life through their lens” … Bonnie Arnold, an animation veteran who most recently produced DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon,” said animated films must vie in the cineplex with effects-laden action films that a generation ago might have been considered more mature fare. “You see elementary school kids standing in line to see ‘Iron Man’ or ‘Transformers,’ ” Arnold said. “To be honest, that’s who we’re all competing with on some level.” In an effort to give the Rapunzel story a more contemporary feel, Catmull and Lasseter pushed the reset button in 2008 and brought in a new directing duo who had both worked on Disney’s animated movie “Bolt.” The Rapunzel film underwent a “total restart,” Catmull said: All the prior work was scrapped and the movie was reconceived as a musical with five songs by Disney’s veteran, multiple-Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. The only surviving elements, Catmull said, were “the hair, the tower and Rapunzel.”
The company feels that the use of fairy tales, a tradition upon which Disney Animation feature films was founded on back in 1936 with Snow White, has “run its course” and that they must focus on new stories to win “wider appeal”. I personally think this is bullshizz. While I LOVE new, original stories like Toy Story, Up!, Monster’s Inc., etc. I really feel that the heart and soul of Disney animation (and animated films in general) comes from the retelling of classic fairy tales. Fairy tales resonate within all of us … they are ancient tales that spark archetypes in our collective psyches and give us all a familiar point of reference to respond to. I don’t understand why there needs to be a complete cut off of that spark. The new animated films are fantastic, yes, but I’m really bummed that classic tales will be thrown by the wayside in order to appeal to a wider audience. Why can’t they alternate new and old stories? Why can’t they, at the very least, put out a classic fairy tale every other year … every 5th year, something? IMHO, the new stories told by Disney/Pixar have a decidedly Western feel to them (like Cars) … while classic fairy tales (like Aladdin, for example) have a much wider appeal. I dunno … this news just really rubs me the wrong way. What do y’all think … are you bothered at all by this news? Do you think telling fairy tales has “run its course” or do you, like me, believe that there is still merit and entertainment to be had in modern retellings of classic fairy tales?

David Boreanaz Settles His Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Paramount Pictures has released a new clip from the upcoming superhero film Thor, due out in May, that isn’t really a trailer per se … it’s just about a minute of footage from the film. The clip is quite humorous, especially the way it ends. Check it out in full below.
I’m thinking Kat Dennings is going to steal the show in this film. She tends to play funny roles very well and this deffo looks like a funny role. It’s crazy to think that the film we first heard about so long ago is almost due for release. I remember when Spring 2011 sounded like a lifetime away and … well, here we are. This clip is really fun. I wonder if we’ll get to see more clips before the film opens in May.

Discover Spanish Pronunciations
To learn Spanish (or any language for that matter), 1 has to know the important methods: functions, grammar, vocabulary and phonology or pronunciation. They are the four equally essential structures 1 requirements to grasp.Function is understanding and use with the various components with the language. Grammar is all about verb tenses, numbers and subject-predicate agreements.
Vocabulary is the knowledge of words and the way they're used. The right sound with the words in a language is categorized under pronunciation.Spanish pronunciationIn real interaction with people, 1 must properly pronounce words to become recognized. Fortunately, there's a great deal of similarity within the Spanish and English alphabets.
Unique lettersBecause Spanish had seeped into several cultures in different nations, there are some pronunciation variations. They are all accepted as correct on both sides with the Atlantic (Latin America and good previous Spain).
In Spanish The united states, LL is always pronounced like the letter Y. Therefore, the Spanish word ELLA sounds like EH-YAH. In other parts with the world, the LL is pronounced like BILLIARDS (botella, llave).
The Spanish H is not pronounced whatsoever. So, HOLA is pronounced OLA, like COLA without the C.The in Spanish sounds such as the NY in the English phrase CANYON. Thus the word SEOR (mister) is pronounced SEN-YOR, and AO (yr) is pronounced AN-YO.
Vowels
The best feature in Spanish vowels is that they're pronounced only 1 way. In Spanish, the vowels have only one sound, no matter whatever letters they precede or adhere to, or what ever accent marks are on them.
The letter A is pronounced such as the 1 in the phrase Automobile. The E sounds like the E in BED. The Spanish I is pronounced such as the long English E, like within the phrase SEE.O is always pronounced such as the O in COLD. The letter U has the sound with the English OO within the word As well or even the UE within the word BLUE.Consonants
You will find two values assigned towards the letter C. Prior to the letters A, O, or U, it is pronounced such as the C in CAT, as in CASA or CANTAR. If it is prior to the vowels E or I, it's pronounced like a TH within the phrase THIN. (decir, conocer)The letter D has a hard and a soft sound. In the beginning of a phrase and after the letters N and L, it's such as the D in Canine. In other scenarios (mostly between vowels) the D is softer, such as the TH in the phrase THIS.The letter J seems like a harsh H, as in PAJARO.
G has two values. Prior to the letters A, O, U or perhaps a consonant, it's pronounced such as the G within the English GO, like the phrase TENGO. Before the letters E and I, the letter stands for any harsh letter H, as in PAGINA.The Spanish R is shaped utilizing the tip of tongue around the upper palate behind the front teeth. The English R is done in the back again with the mouth with the back again of the tongue.Meanwhile, RR creates a trilling sound. And the letter Z sounds like the TH within the English phrase THIN.Can you see how simple it's to discover Spanish pronunciation?
