The Electric Guitar The Greatest Entertainment Trip of All Time

My wife and I received a special treat recently, when invited to attend the Dallas Symphony, and as a result of our hostess being honored that evening, were seated in "Box A" of the hall which places you at the very front of the auditorium just above the stage and orchestra. From this vantage point, the Conductor and Musicians movements are very apparent, as is the music itself. The program conducted by Jaap van Zweden, originally from the Netherlands, included a varied selection of music by Tchaikovsky of Russia, Mozart of Austria and Ravel of France and included a duet of pianos and four handsNot only was the music fascinating, but also the motions of the Conductor, lunging forward to motivate the musicians, and synchronized movements of the musicians, violin bows moving in exact timing with each other.

Installing a Killswitch

Have you been wanting to make your own beats using rap beat machines? I know the feeling. You're probably tired of hearing the same ole' music on the radio and you want to change the game and make your presence felt, right? Well, now is the best time to do so because the music industry is changing and declining. We need newcomers to shake it back up, so congrats for taking the first step!

Listening To The Music A Good Hobby

Now, more than ever, it is incredibly easy to be an obsessive music fan if you want to be. Satellite Internet takes care of any need you would have on this front. Following a performer or a band used to require a singular dedication. Perhaps you would have to take out a few magazine subscriptions, so that you could follow the music news that was reported in magazines like Rolling Stone, Creem, or Downbeat. You would simply have to hope upon hope that a news article regarding your band was printed there. Another method involved becoming part of your band's fan club. This also required you to outlay some money. You did have the advantage, of course, of being the first one to access new albums, purchase tickets for concert tours, and get your hands on a host of cool merchandise.

Making the Most of Microphones

One of the concerns that you (and your neighbors) are probably going to have when you start recording in your home is the amount of sound that gets into and out of your room. Sound waves, are nasty little buggers. They get through almost any surface, and you can't do a lot to stop that from happening.

al-pacino-to-play-phil-spector-1.jpg

We can kind of see the resemblance!

Al Pacino will be portraying Phil Spector in an upcoming HBO film, written and directed by David Mamet.

The film is still in early development so it has yet to be confirmed whether or not it will cover Spector's murder trial and sentencing to 19 years to life.

We hope it does though, because we'd love to see Pacino wear those crazy wigs.

What do U think of the casting choice?

Should You Have An Assistant?

If you wish to impress your pals with all your mind reading skills, in that case this trick is just simply what you need to learn! So that you can perform this easy card trick, you require to take out 25 cards from the pack and request someone from the audience to shuffle them and cut them as many times as they want. Soon after this, you must distribute the 25 cards out on a table, in 5 rows of 5 cards, face up, from left to right, in tight rows, resembling the structure of a grid.

The usually testy actor Gerard Butler was especially testy in Miami, FL yesterday when he decided to go all crazypants on a paparazzi photographer who was taking photos at the Art Basel Miami event at the Miami Convention Center yesterday afternoon … take a look:

Thankfully Gerard did NOT take a page from the Russell Crowe playbook (who got himself into a bit of trouble a few years ago when he went all Naomi Campbell on a poor unsuspecting hotel concierge when he assaulted him with a telephone). As you can see, Gerard had a phone handy and managed to refrain from hurling the device at the offending photog. Good Gerry, good boy. Still … Mr. Butler may want to get that temper in check a bit better … he doesn’t really want to join the Naomi Campbell/Russell Crowe Phone Club, now does he?

How to Make Your Own Hip Hop Beats Why You Need Beat Making Software

Freestyle music is also known as Latin Hip Hop. Freestyle is a form of electronic music often using electronic drums and other synthesized beats. I became familiar with this style of music in the late 1980s when it was very popular. I was in college at the time and had a friend who was really into dance music. In fact, he was a DJ. I heard these songs on the radio, in dance clubs, and on cassette tapes.

The challenge coins were originally designed specifically within the American Forces but now they are used in every branch of the military, police and fire departments together with other fraternal organizations to represent a brotherhood amongst their members. You will find that on the challenge coins that are used in the police department they will feature that department's logo and with some of them having special designs to show that the owner is a member of the Special Weapons Tactics Team or SWAT as is more commonly known. Sometimes a Fire Fighter will be awarded one of the challenge coins to show he is part of a team of a specific firehouse and the structure of the firehouse is usually embossed on the coin.

How The Beatles Influenced Popular Culture and Music

Ever since the folk and rock explosion of the sixties, the guitar has become perhaps the world's most popular instrument. Lightweight and portable, and relatively easy to play basic chords, it's not hard to understand why so many people love it. When looking at the popularity of different models it's important to consider what type of songs you want to be playing. Even still, some guitars are exceptionally popular.

In an effort to get out and enjoy the cool SoCal night last night, David and I ventured out for a little shopping trip at The Grove. For the most part we did a lot of window shopping but did enjoy a casual stroll around the outdoor shopping area. We stopped in at the Whisper Lounge for a couple of drinks and a bit of convo:

All in all it was a pretty nice and quiet night. My plans for tonight got changed up a bit. I was supposed to go to a screening of Tron: Legacy but it has been moved to Saturday night instead. I think David and I are going to try and meet up with our friend Jordan who we haven’t seen in an ice age … tho, it’s possible that we will enjoy another easy, breezy night of a whole lotta nothing.

We’re just one day away from the weekend … I hope you’re having a great day!!
